Application and licensing

IFC provides licenses for training firms to use Business Edge content and certifies trainers to deliver Business Edge training. Certified trainers must be associated with a licensed training firm.

The process involves:

  1. An 'expression of interest' advert is placed in leading publications for training firms to join the Business Edge™ network.

  2. Fill in the Business Plan (attachment to download) and send to IFC.

  3. IFC interviews applicants and selects the top firms/trainers to attend the Business Edge™ Training of Trainers (ToT) course delivered by a Business Edge™ Master Trainer.

  4. Trainers associated with training firms are certified. The process is as follows:

    1. To ensure the quality of our trainers, only candidates who score at least 3.5-5 at the end of the ToT (a Business Edge™ mastery grading scale) are designated 'Provisional' trainers and allowed to practice
    2. The provisional trainers schedule training sessions and are assessed by an accredited Business Edge™ Assessor for at least two sessions
    3. Once the trainers pass the assessment, they are accredited as 'Certified Business Edge™ Trainers' for a year. IFC is at liberty to undertake more assessments during the year.

  5. Approved training firms sign a 'co-operation agreement' with IFC and pay the license fees to access the training manuals after passing the Training of Trainers course. The firms are also issued passwords to the Business Edge™ Database.
